Seasonal Falls represents the latest musical endeavour of Swiss singer-songwriter Roman Gabriel, where his compositions are elevated by the emotive vocals of Andrew Pelletier. Together their heartfelt tracks encapsulate the band's deep-rooted love for indie music with a particular fondness for the sounds of the 90s with influences from Elliott Smith, Pavement and The Lucksmiths.
Opening with a gentle acoustic guitar arrangement, 'Lie Down' sets a serene tone with its languid tempo accompanied by a groovy bass line and soft percussion enveloping the listener in a tranquil ambiance.
Pelletier’s vocals though baritone have a softness to them, perfectly capturing the introspective themes such as pushing your limits and understanding that rest is beneficial. This is reflected in the lyrics, “Gotta lie down, down to the ground every time life feels crashing down. Gotta stay low just for a while you’re going to get through it I know”. The result? A calming aura.
Seasonal Falls have created a spectacular single in its simplest form. ‘Lie Down’ uses stripped back instrumentals to really focus on lyrics and meaning for an enjoyable yet profound listening experience.
