Australian garage rockers Teenage Dads release imposing new single ‘Midnight Driving’

Aussie band Teenage Dads have made a triumphant mark on the indie music scene this year with their formidable new music releases. With their upcoming release of their 3rd EP ‘Midnight Driving’, Teenage Dads have issued the title track as their next single with their infectious melodies and snappy sounds.

Jordan Finlay, Connor McLaughlin, Vincent Kinna and Angus Christie met at school in Melbourne in 2015 and since then have release 2 EPs and 2 albums. The self-produced and self-taught 4 piece had their first radio play on Australia’s ‘Triple J’ in 2017 through their discovery initiative ‘Triple J Unearthed’.

‘Midnight Driving’ has everything that makes a perfect Australian indie song. The track starts with punchy guitar chords before adventuring into an intricate synth piece. The guitar riffs are a constant throughout this record which carries the whole track alongside the vivacious drum beats.

You can really tell that Teenage Dads take inspiration from bands like The Strokes as the similarities in vocals is impressive in this track. The slightly muffled, deep and soothing voice really resonates with classic The Strokes songs like ‘Someday’.

It’s exciting to see this band that deserve every bit of recognition for their musical talents making waves on this side of the world in recent months with their new music. Teenage Dads have managed to make a perfectly balanced and clean record with ‘Midnight Driving’. It’s infectious, cool and effortless.
