After a string of successful live performances at the likes of TRNSMT festival and Neighbourhood Weekender, ‘Love Me Like You Wanna Be Loved’, provides us with the perfect end to a great summer. It’s a reminder of how important it is to celebrate the good things in life, especially after the year we’ve all had.
The song’s intro almost fools us into thinking it’s going to be a slightly heavier tune, but then we get hit with lead singer, Fran’s soft vocals and a chorus of claps providing the beat. The joyous tune gives us a singalong anthem, just in time for their upcoming tour. You can just imagine “L-O-V-E” being chanted by each and every fan. It also works as a great track to clap along to. The perfect song to get the fans involved.
The disco-funk inspired tune highlights all the best parts of being in love. Red Rum Club are geniuses when it comes to creating a track that draws out a certain feeling or emotion. They don’t just rely on lyrics to tell a story, they work on composing intricate guitar riffs and drum beats, as well as adding depth with trumpet, bass and keys, to build this interesting narrative.
It will be great to see what their sold out, headline show at Liverpool’s Mountford Hall is going to be like -homecoming shows are always a special one.
Keep an eye out for the release of their new album ‘How To Steal The World’ on 22nd October 2021, it’s certainly not one to miss.
