The track is about missing friends and family in the current pandemic due to lockdown, and although you cannot be with them, you know they are only a call away if they are needed.
In these times it is important to have a reminder that we are not alone and that there are people around us that can support us at any time, just like the song says. ‘SOS’ manages to capture the feelings of so many people right now and put it into a track that is catchy and upbeat. It is exactly what is needed for the start of this year. Its sleek production is full of soulful bars and has a catchy chorus that does offer us light at the end of the lockdown tunnel. Soon the theme of this song will be behind us, hopefully.
The throwback to the 90s follows in the same style as their previous single ‘Baby Blue’ that was released in 2020. The duo has a great ability at creating a blend of pop and R&B that sounds fresh and creative. It brings that 90s aesthetic and pulls them right through to 2021 seamlessly. It is a song that would not feel out of place in the charts at the moment.
The song has nods to Ariana Grande and NAO in its style with Jess’ voice having a similarity to the latter. There are also similarities of Oh Wonder in there if they were becoming a pop duo this is what they would sound like.
With already over 3 million streams to their name, there is no shortness to the following that Temptress are beginning to acquire. It won’t be long until they boom into the commercial success that they deserve to have.
