Her first offering of the year comes in the neatly-wrapped ethereal atmospheres of 'Back To Life'. Hand-picked as the first release from her forthcoming sophomore record, the aptly titled '2' (due out March 27th), the narrative explores self-reflection and building oneself back up in the aftermath of a breakup.
Where previous releases 'The Clock' and 'Satellite' are more pop-leaning, 'Back To Life' follows on from the softer inclinations found rooted throughout the folk-leaning confessional 'Making Coffee'. Here, however, Sonnen Blume is reassembling after heartache, rather than sweetly reflecting on past relationships. Soaked in delicate, synth-infused instrumentation, her raw reflections and dulcet tones hark comparisons to indie stalwarts Phoebe Bridgers and Birdy.
At just over the two-and-a-half minute mark, the track is a short and incredibly sweet peek into the clear musical flair of Sonnen Blume. Wholly evocative, 'Back To Life' is a mellifluous and tender offering from the Staffordshire-hailing rising artist.
