Poppy, Amy Lee, And Courtney LaPlante Unite In The Simmering ‘End Of You’

After a mysterious social media post sent the metal scene into an eager, anticipatory frenzy, vocalists Amy Lee (Evanescence), Courtney LaPlante (Spiritbox), and Poppy have released their collaborative track ‘End Of You’.

Produced by Jordan Fish, the track speaks to the strength we must muster to accept and embrace change, and that the end of one thing can actually be the beginning of another: “the end of you is the start of life for me.”

Of course, with three of the best voices in modern metal joining forces on one track, it’s expected that vocally, this track will reach new heights, and indeed it does. It seamlessly blends the classic depth of Lee’s gothic sound, which flows from the beginning of the track, with the modern bite of Poppy’s vocal delivery, before turning on a knife’s-edge with LaPlante’s impressive range. Pair this with electric instrumentals, and the energy of this song is unshakeable.

The track is accompanied by a cinematic video showing fragments of contrasting scenes. From the shadows of a darkened room to the glow of a crystalline staircase, and then into an emerald hallway, the video visually echoes the vocal structure, each vocalist’s style commanding a unique setting.

The unification of these three frontwomen speaks to more than just a well-anticipated collaboration; its message is a testament to those who push back against adversity. Grounded in that strength and resilience, ‘End Of You’ is an anthem to anyone who rises above what has held them back.
