Since their conception in 2020, they have received support and mentoring from the likes of Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz. Their upcoming release, 'WHERE DID ALL THE BUTTERFLIES GO?' is due on 5th September and will be the band's debut studio album.
As they prepare for their upcoming record and play a selection of live dates, we managed to speak with them as part of our Seven Questions with Music Is To Blame series. They delve into their fandom, playing with blink-182 and the records that they love themselves.
Introduce yourself and where you're from.
We're Beauty School Dropout from Los Angeles, CA.
What do our readers need to know about you?
We're nice boys.
What have you got coming up that you're most excited for?
Our album, of course...' WHERE DID ALL THE BUTTERFLIES GO?'. September 5th. We are unbelievably proud of this one.
What's the best run-in you've had with a fan?
We've had so many, but I think it's such a cool experience to get to create a community with our supporters. They call themselves The Dropouts and are truly the most supportive fandom. Constantly pushing us to keep going. We owe a lot to them.
What's been your biggest "I've made it" moment so far?
The most duh one is when we got to play MSG with blink-182. That was surreal. But there's been countless small moments that also hit. Like hearing fans from other countries scream your lyrics back to you, to having people tell us we're their favourite band. That hits because we all had those moments as fans of live music growing up.
What are your three "desert island" albums?
'Hot Fuss' by The Killers
'Glow On' by Turnstile
'Nevermind' by Nirvana
Sum up your sound in three words.
Driving, heavy, sexy.
