Eades return with a gritty indie bop ‘Reno Pt.2’

The five-piece Yorkshire band Eades return to the indie scene with their new single ‘Reno Pt.2’. The band formed at Leeds College of Music in 2019 and have since released their debut album ‘Delusion Spree’ in 2022.

‘Reno Pt.2’ is the perfect follow-up to ‘Reno’ with its escalated production, added synth, and heavier bass line. In ‘Reno’, the Yorkshiremen tells a tale through their lyrics of an arson court case and these emotional lyrics continue in part 2, with one of the most obvious lines being ‘‘nothing lost, nothing left’’. Eades’ new release has put extra emphasis on their guitar and bass playing, giving the band’s sound a heavier tone, comparable to Shame and The Murder Capital.

If you listen to part 1 and queue part 2, you will realise these songs blend perfectly—the prime example of how their sound has expanded. The track starts with a short instrumental before leading into a bass-heavy opener of the new song. The track slowly assembles itself to a big chorus with the incisive lyrics of ‘‘I left my heart in Reno’’. The bridge of the record travels from deep bass to high guitar riffs and extending to masterful synths before ending the song with a verse full of speedy vocals and perfect indie alternative instruments.

You can catch Eades performing this song when they support fellow rockers Wunderhorse on their sold-out UK tour. This new release is an exciting teaser of what is yet to come from this talented northern band.
