We first heard of the couple when their song ‘soft spot’ went viral on TikTok in 2021. Piri & tommy have since released singles ‘beachin’, ‘on and on’ and most recently, their first mixtape ‘froge.mp3’.
The twosome have made their cover of the well-known Charli song ‘unlock it’ into a track that screams piri & tommy. The offering opens with the soothing sound of the keyboard with a hefty bass riff over the top to make that classic drum and bass sound that the duo wear so well. Piri’s velvet vocals alongside the tranquillizing beat make this an exquisite cover.
The track has been made and produced flawlessly and the sound is unbelievably clear. It really makes the listener hear every single instrument that has been used to produce what feels like an ultimate cover. Two people have put together this fantastic reworking and have managed to make such an iconic song their own, which is a spectacular skill to have! It is so exciting to see what piri & tommy have lined up next!
