The pop star has been consistently vocal about her love for books, hosting her renowned book club service95, where she recommends different reads to her audience and discusses them with their authors on her podcast. She has interviewed a variety of writers in the past, including Margaret Atwood.
Her curation includes a takeover on the first weekend of the festival. Within this, a handful of festival events will see Lipa in conversation with the featured writers, leading discussions that offer her perspectives on their books. Some of these discussions will also be recorded for service95.
Lipa will be joined by Zadie Smith, whose debut novel White Teeth, which centres on two immigrant families and their connection, was released over 25 years ago. Other authors in talks with Lipa include songwriter and poet Patti Smith, who will discuss her memoir Bread of Angels and her extraordinary creative journey.
There is a true mix of book genres and events available throughout the event, appealing to a wider range of readers and writers. Beyond the discussions and readings, the festival includes masterclasses and a bookshop.
