But enough about the TV shows. For some time now, Grimes has been building his musical career too. He first introduced himself with his self-titled album ‘Luke Grimes’ in March 2024 - and for anybody who enjoys country music, it’s worth a listen!
On February 13th, Grimes surprised his fans with a new song, ‘Love You Now’, the first single from his sophomore album, ‘Red Bird’, set for release on April 3rd. It might be a little early to evaluate the direction of the entire album, but the song is definitely on a more subtle side. It’s a warm, intimate, acoustic arrangement with authenticity as its backbone.
Lyrically, the track focuses on feeling really close to someone and wanting to know as much as possible about them, the good and the bad. At its core and as the name suggests, it’s a love song - not the dramatic kind, but one rooted in stability and maturity, and the fact that it came out just a day before Valentine’s Day makes perfect sense.
Since one of Grimes’ songs, ‘No Horse To Ride’, has already been featured in Yellowstone, it begs the question, why not use his ‘Red Bird’ tracks in the spin-off show? For those curious to see him on screen, Marshals premieres March 1, 2026.
