Their latest single 'When Are You Coming For Me Jesus?' offers a narrative of self-sabotage-cum-realisation that takes its roots in gritty vocals and snarling guitar lines, with a cutting rock-edge. Only their sophomore release (following on from 2025's debut outing 'Vice'), the four-and-a-half minute 'When Are You Coming For Me Jesus?' continues along its predecessor's path of pleading vocals and infectious guitar lines, but enters a wholly darker soundscape drenched in punk-adjacent intonations.
Speaking on the track's narrative, frontman Jacob Hunter notes: "... [it's] a cry for help... wondering why the most important people in your life aren’t there for you. I later learned that they weren’t properly equipped to give me the help I needed... that hopelessness and realisation is what ['When Are You Coming For Me Jesus?'] is about".
Admirably raw and vulnerable, barking vocals drive home the overt hopelessness and anguish veined throughout. 'When Are You Coming For Me Jesus?' offers a shelter of relatability for the turned-around while acting as a sonic catharsis for its penman.
heavyskint are a band on the rise - and one that would be entirely unwise to underestimate.
