When Life Gives You LEMONs, Listen To ‘Let it Out’

While Autumn may have descended upon us, Amsterdam-based Lemon are still catching the last of the Summer rays with their easygoing release ‘Let it Out’. A euphoric and breezy single with nods to renowned bands including Happy Mondays and The La’s, it’s not difficult to understand why the band are gaining notoriety in the indie rock scene.

There’s a lot to love in this song, ranging from the jangly guitars and Mark Bonger’s catchy basslines that demand your attention to Ralf Hesen’s free-spirited vocals, all of which allow you to escape from your everyday strife and just relax in this four-minute joyride of fun, funk, and soul with a bit of psychedelic indie thrown in for good measure.

The use of the cowbells and tambourine brings a mix of nostalgia and modern-day fun to ‘Let it Out’True to the title, the lyrics describe the liberating act of letting go of all your worries. From “sometimes the world is just too big for my brain / sometimes I feel like my head is going to explode” to “let it out and catch some fun / let it out and have some fun”, it makes for an enjoyable experience from start to finish.

‘Let It Out’ is a triumphant track for the ages; it’s a song dripping with artistry and pure, unfiltered energy. Proving that Lemon are masters of their craft.
