Samuel Campoli Brings Summer To The Depths Of November With 'Every Time'

Sonically reminiscent of jangle-pop artists such as Mac DeMarco, Brooklyn-based Samuel Campoli is making waves with his spin on lo-fi indie stylings.

Boasting a varied back-catalogue that swims through the far reaches of subtle folk ('Wonderful'), woozy bedroom pop ('One Eye'), stripped-back instrumentals ('Didit'), and alternative-rock ('Caroline'), Campoli's transient approach to genre is what defines him as a distinct and prominent musician.

The most recent addition to his discography, 'Every Time', is drenched in overt psychedelia, with swooning instrumentation and lush textures that bring the apex of Summer to the depths of a bleak British November. 'Every Time''s soundscape is infused with overt experimentalism and is a direct reflection of Campoli's love of “tropical psychedelic music".

For Campoli, music is about the raw expression of a musician's innermost thoughts - offering nothing less than complete, unbridled honesty. This credence is reflected in the narrative that champions 'Every Time', as he confesses that "I don’t really have interest in trying to fit it into what people want or following trends or anything like that. It’s a deeply personal experience for me, and in releasing it, my only goal is to find the people who could enjoy it or relate to it".

Despite its short length (just over the two-and-a-half-minute mark), the cut is by no means lacking in substance. Campoli crams the pinnacle of his musicianship into the neatly wrapped indie-pop package of 'Every Time', and the result is an infectious, insatiable cut.

Sitting as his first release since 2018's 'One Eye', seven years on, 'Every Time' is a much-welcome return from the Brooklyn musician.
