After an incredible Summer working the European festival circuit (Reading & Leeds, Kendal Calling, TRUCK), London-based duo Good Health Good Wealth have just unveiled their debut record - ‘This Time Next Year We'll Be Millionaires’.
With the new release, we sat down with co-front Bruce to discuss their upcoming sold-out tour, literal fan run-ins, and performing at Glastonbury as part of the Seven Questions with Music Is To Blame series.
Introduce yourself and where you're from.
Hi, I’m Bruce, one half of GHGW, and I’m from London. Simon, the 2nd half is from London too, via Lithuania
What do our readers need to know about you?
That I’m not single (my mrs made me say this)
What have you got coming up that you’re most excited for?
Our first-ever UK and Ireland tour that sold out a few months ago! Really excited to meet some of these nutters who bought the tickets. It still seems very surreal that we have ‘fans’, but we’re very grateful to be able to do what we’re doing.
What’s the best run-in you’ve had with a fan?
I had a literal run-in with a fan the other day, running around Shadwell Basin. I thought he wanted to have a row with me initially, but it turned out he’d seen us at Glastonbury!
What’s been your biggest ‘I’ve made it’ moment so far?
Glastonbury was a bit of a pinch-me moment. I wasn’t expecting anything as we were playing on the Thursday before things properly kicked off, but when we came out and the tent was spilling out and people were singing the words back to us, it felt pretty surreal.
What are your three “desert island” albums?
'Original Pirate Material' by The Streets to remind me of home
'In Search Of' by NERD to help amp me up for catching fish with a homemade spear
'Blood Money' by Tom Waits to help my descent into madness
Sum up your sound in three words.
British, real, and hopeful.
