Lime Garden Showcase Their Best Selves With ‘Maybe Not Tonight’

Bad decisions always make for great songs, as proven by Lime Garden’s exciting new single ‘Maybe Not Tonight’. Their first release since their debut album ‘One More Thing’ at the beginning of 2024, this is the English band like never heard before.

Slightly rough around the edges with the glitchy melodies and marching drums (courtesy of the amazing Annabel Whittle), it’s the perfect soundtrack to a night out and the aftermath of it all. With lyrics including “I want to kiss a stranger, make them feel like they’re the one / I want to dance around my friends until my feet are done,” it details the times when the urge to let loose and destroy yourself in the process is sometimes just too much to resist.

‘Maybe Not Tonight’ feels slightly suffocating as it swirls and crashes around you, and with a certain anger behind Chloe Howard’s stunning vocals, the whole thing is powerful and all-consuming. The only thing that you want to listen to, keeping you running back to that repeat button.

Striking a balance between just being overwhelming chaos, there are moments of anticipation sprinkled throughout as you eagerly wait for the fun to commence once more. Where the song dips, taking on a slower, slightly stripped-back route before pouncing back into the fiery guitars and the raucousness that has grown to be so familiar and so loved.

Packed to the brim with energy, ‘Maybe Not Tonight’ by the fabulous Lime Garden is a song that gets your heart pumping and your feet moving. Doing it in their own way, the Brighton-based band are bound to be one of your newfound favourites.
