Inhaler Debut New Sound With 'Hole In The Ground'

'Hole In The Ground’ marks Irish big shots Inhaler's first release since February. Set to be another success for the band, the song runs rife with a hazy sense of melancholy, demonstrated by the fuzzy guitars and the low hum of bass.

But fear not, as it’s not all doom and gloom. Through an irresistible and incessant beat, a much-needed freshness is brought along, ensuring that you don’t feel too bogged down by the track.

Reflecting on something that you just can’t quite let go of, the track has an air of claustrophobia, sometimes leaving you feeling slightly trapped as the instruments swirl around you. Lyrics like “the hole said, “stay, won’t you come crawl around?”” help to drive this narrative. They help to craft the song into something deep and meaningful, leaving a lasting impact well after the last chord has been struck.

The darker guitar tones that are used throughout let the song feel beautiful and fragile, almost as though if it's listened to too much, it’ll simply shatter. It makes you appreciate it more ,as listening feels like a special occasion that deserves to be celebrated. And celebrated it is; the song is a triumph for the indie-rockers.

‘Hole In The Ground’ has been released ahead of their sold-out show at the Royal Albert Hall, after a long streak of shows across the UK and Europe on their ‘Open Wide’ tour. The track is a marker of these momentous occasions and demonstrates just how far the band has come since debuting in 2012.

Slightly messy and at times frantic, but always hitting the mark, ‘Hole In The Ground’ is Inhaler’s captivating new single, which marks a new and exciting dawn for the Dublin boys.
