The second single from her highly awaited debut album, it certainly whets your appetite for what’s on the horizon.
It’s a delicious mix of melancholy, as heard through the guitars, and feelings of lightness. At the song’s core is a beautiful message, loving someone completely, pain (whatever that may be), and all.
The steady drums are the heartbeat of the son,g but the choruses are where the song truly comes alive.
They’re stronger than the rest of the track, where all the instruments have a chance to shine, and MICAH’s stunning vocals make a powerful statement.
It’s an endearing balance of pace; at times, ‘Cry’ embodies ‘slow and steady wins the race’ and at others, it all comes rushing in. The most effective of this is near the end of the song when the Irish artist’s vocals are slightly faded before they build and become crystal clear again.
For fans of CASCADA, ‘Cry’ is a charming little tune that leaves me excited to see where MICAH goes next.
