A Blended Track For The Record Books: Ula Releases 'Danger'

Recently moving to a solo career, session musician, producer, and studio engineer, Ula does it all. In an astonishingly individual manner, she composes tracks utilising every corner of the music industry; from synth sounds to pop and jazz, there’s nothing she cannot tackle.

Adjusting her path from band life with Tenacity has proved not only impactful but positive career-wise, allowing her to explore her own sound and ability to fuse each facet of her talent with another. Additionally, aiding others as an individual producer and creator, Ula really is making great moves in the industry and will undoubtedly climb the ladder of success right before our eyes.

In her new independent era, she has released the single ‘Danger’, a perfect balance between unconventional synth sounds and an almost spectral melody. The track finds a certain obscurity across its lifespan, one that trickles her echoing vocals into this melting pot of composition. It opens with her unique synth tone, teasing it bit by bit until the conclusion incorporates an explosion of such. Ula does not remain single-minded with this track, but allows it to breathe and grow with a listener’s experience.

The vocals describe this titular“Danger” as “pretty”, an interesting oxymoronic idea engaging with the debate of danger’s inherent alluring nature. There’s a power in her voice and her words- “Read your mind six times/ And I’m impressed but/ You better think I’m not” somewhat explores this sense of personal insecurity meeting a vulnerability that finds its importance in control. Control over the self and the perception of others; it is a difficult balance, but one that Ula captures so beautifully in so few words.

Overall, ‘Danger’ feels as if one is surfing on a beam of light, jumping from one to the other and following them as they strike object to object. One never finds a moment of stillness but instead bathes in the chaos of it all.
