Originally released as a solo track by ML, ‘Own Motion’ was already a statement about staying true to yourself and moving through life at your own pace. Now, with Giggs stepping in on the remix, the father-son duo creates a meaningful dialogue of being unapologetically oneself. 

Giggs opens the remix by reflecting on his journey, celebrating his achievements and his role as a father, introducing ML with the line, “I’m so for him.” ML follows with a message about staying grounded in his journey, declaring, “Not watching anyone else, I got my own motion.”

Recently, Giggs spoke publicly about discovering his own autism later in life, something he began to understand more clearly through his son’s journey. His verse on the track reflects that emotional awakening and shows his support for ML, offering the kind of understanding and grace he didn’t have growing up.

Together, father and son are fostering openness and meaningful dialogue around autism, adding depth to the track, challenging stigma and showing confidence in their identity.
