Irish/French singer-songwriter and pop powerhouse Cian Ducrot is having the kind of year most artists only dream of.
Hot off a GRAMMY® win for his co-writing on SZA’s ‘Saturn’ and with a streak of captivating singles behind him, Ducrot returns with ‘Your Eyes’, a luminous, life-affirming pop gem that might just be his best work yet.
The track is the latest glimpse into his eagerly awaited second album ‘Little Dreaming’, due out on August 1st, via Polydor Records. If this single is anything to go by, the album is set to be one of 2025’s defining pop releases.
From its very first notes, ‘Your Eyes’ feels like quintessential Ducrot, heartfelt, sincere, and emotionally immediate. The song begins in a stripped-back, acoustic style that fans of his earlier material will recognise and love. But what follows is a vibrant, euphoric burst of sound that signals artistic growth and pure joy. Joyful handclaps, soaring harmonies, and radiant instrumentation propel the track into anthemic territory, capturing the warmth and gratitude that come from true connection.
At the song’s core lies a beautifully simple idea: the comfort and clarity found in a loved one’s gaze. In Ducrot’s hands, this becomes something both intimate and universal. His vocal delivery is emotionally raw yet refined, communicating vulnerability without ever losing strength. It’s a balance he’s perfected over the last few years, and it shines brighter than ever here.
Part of the track’s brilliance lies in its collaborative spirit. Co-written with Anton Göransson, Isabella Sjöstrand (RAYE), and Bill Maybury (James Bay), ‘Your Eyes’ benefits from a collective creative force that doesn’t overshadow Ducrot’s distinct voice. Göransson, who also co-produced the track with Ducrot, helps craft a soundscape that blends organic instrumentation with polished pop production, striking the sweet spot between heartfelt balladry and radio-ready exhilaration.
With ‘Your Eyes’, Ducrot continues to prove that sincerity still has a powerful place in pop music. There’s no pretence here, only a musician offering his full emotional truth with open arms. It’s that honesty, paired with undeniable melodic hooks, that’s turning him into one of the most exciting voices in the genre today.
As ‘Little Dreaming’ approaches, ‘Your Eyes’ sets the stage for what could be a career-defining record. Early singles like the title track, ‘Who’s Making You Feel It?’ and the explosive ‘Shalalala’ have shown Ducrot experimenting with sound while staying true to his roots. He’s pulling from a diverse palette of influences, Elton John, Queen, even shades of Michael Jackson, and shaping them into something wholly his own.
With more than 100 songs written for the project (and a few last-minute additions that made the final cut), ‘Little Dreaming’ promises to be both deeply personal and musically ambitious. The album’s special tricolour vinyl edition is already generating buzz, and anticipation is only building.
‘Your Eyes’ is a radiant declaration of love, joy, and the simple beauty of being seen. In a world often clouded by noise and cynicism, Cian Ducrot offers a moment of clarity and a reason to believe in pop’s power to uplift.
