Supermodel* Stun With ‘I Used To Live In England’

Supermodel* have dropped their first ever single ‘I Used To Live In England’ and it’s one that deserves a world of its own.

Drawing on influences from bands such as LCD Soundsystem, it’s a humorous track that focuses on the epitome of British culture and the American viewpoint of it.

The funky bass and steady drums starts off the song and proceeds to provide a solid backbone for the track. Complemented by the spoken word, the song is simple in its execution but excels at what it’s trying to do. It chews the listener up and spits them out as a whole new person.

Featuring lyrics such as “I used to say cheers whenever I went anywhere” and “everyone would always ask me how was London, even though I didn’t live in London,” it highlights the tongue-in-cheek banter that the band is going for while exploring Supermodel*’s personal experiences of living in the U.K.

The energetic experimentation of sound at the end elevates ‘I Used To Live In England’, it’s carefree and drills the message home that this tune is just meant to be a bit of fun and highlights Supermodel*’s skills to craft masterpieces.

The single showcases the exceptional talent of up-and-coming Supermodel* and allows listeners to realise the need to get into the band now before they explode onto both the American and U.K music scenes.
