This summer, Boardmasters returns to Newquay, Cornwall, from the 6th to the 10th of August. Surfing, sound baths, and silent discos complement the genre-spanning line-up, but with headliners including RAYE, Central Cee and The Prodigy, which upcoming artists are making waves that are not to be missed?
1 - Emily Makis
Bringing her distinctive Drum & Bass tracks to Boardmasters on the Friday, Emily Makis is booked for a busy International summer festival season. Known for her distinctive vocals and commitment to pushing the boundaries of electronic music, this month Emily Makis released ‘Spell It Out’, her latest single and third collaboration with K Motionz. If you’re in the mood for dancing, do not miss Emily Makis on the beach.
2 - Beth McCarthy
Unapologetically queer pop is set to come to the beach on Friday 8th August as bisexual icon Beth McCarthy takes to the stage, fresh from their European ‘Hot and Stupid’ tour. Hit singles including ‘Good Bi’, ‘All My Friends Are Hot’ and ‘Hot and Stupid’, tell stories of friendship, love and a sprinkling of drama. With new music, crazy stories and their signature pink hair, make sure to catch Beth McCarthy at Boardmasters.
3 - Luvcat
On the Saturday line-up is Luvcat, describing their sound as “sweet circus grunge”, the alt-rock band have recently released their first single of 2025, ‘Lipstick’. Led by Liverpudlian Sophie Morgan, the band are known for their mysterious, romantic and vulnerable tracks. With 2025 marking their first festival season, Luvcat are ones to watch.
4 - HoneyLuv
Having been crowned BBC 1’s Future Star back in 2023, HoneyLuv is continuing to make her mark as a stand-out dance artist with her bold and main-character energy beats. Releasing her latest single ‘Dancehall’ earlier this month, HoneyLuv promises to get the Sunday crowd dancing.
5 - Orla Gartland
‘The Hero Tour’ may be over, but Orla Gartland is bringing her emotive and unforgettable tracks to the Sunday Boardmasters stage. Releasing her debut album, ‘Woman On The Internet’ in 2021 before setting up FIZZ - a super-group made up of her friends and fellow musicians Dodie, Greta Isaac and Martin Luke Brown - 2024 saw her release her second solo album ‘Everybody Needs A Hero’. With the extended version of the album now available, the possibilities for Orla Gartland’s set are endless and not to be missed.
