Bombay Bicycle Club reunite with Lucy Rose on their entrancing new single ‘Willow’

Bombay Bicycle Club are back with their much anticipated new single ‘Willow’, the latest from their forthcoming ‘Bombay and friends’ EP ‘Fantasies’.

The highly sought after project is set to be released digitally on 23rd February, with a limited 2,500 10 vinyl copies available. Aligning with the groups preceding style and tone found in albums such as ‘My Big Day’ the EP  features collaborations with the likes of Rae Morris and Liz Lawrence who fans will remember from previous live cameos and stand out tracks.

‘Willow’ sees the band reunite with collaborator and long term friend Lucy Rose after more than a decade since their last partnership. The new offering is a celebration, paying homage to the glorious and distinct melodies that make this band so recognisable. Both paving the way for a new and reimagined sound whilst also revelling in nostalgia and echoing their iconic 2014 number one album, ‘So Long, See You Tomorrow’.  Earlier single ‘Fantasneeze’ is pioneered by Matilda Mann, bringing to light the bands willingness to embrace reconceptualized ways to create, and trail blaze ground-breaking new approaches to their sound.

The groups Sixth album, ‘My Big Day’ produced by frontman Jack Steadman has contributions from Ben Allen and Paul Epworth and features collaborations with artists such as Chakra khan, Jay Som, Holly Humberstone,  Nilüfer Yanya and Damon Albarn and debuted as number three on the UK Official albums chart.

Currently on their UK/IE tour, 2024 will also see the band re emerge back into the live circuit with an impressive run of tours including the Uk & Ireland, North America and the most monumental show of the bands career at London’s Alexandra Palace Park on July 12th.

Both ‘My Big Day’ and ‘Willow’ remind us why we need bands like Bombay Bicycle club. To detach from the mundane and predictable and reconnect with enchanting, uplifting and mystifying new ways of redefining the modern musical landscape.
