Earlier this year, Slayyyter released her third studio album ‘WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA’.  Filled with hard-hitting club beats, breakthrough tracks like ‘DANCE…’ helped land Slayyyter her first spot on the Billboard 200. Her success, along with confirmation of her boyfriend’s infidelity, inspired two new singles that serve as foils for previous tracks: ‘brand new channel$’ to balance ‘BEAT UP CHANNEL$’ and, most recently, ‘crank 2’ to replace ‘CRANK’.

Both versions share a chaotic energy that makes you want to “Crank it”, but this new release is filled with much more venom. Succinctly just under three and half minutes, this track is a direct message to her ex. Slayyyter makes it clear who won the breakup as she screams: “I’m the GOAT (I will not stand for you now)”. With a discordant electronic sound at times reminiscent of a revving engine, ‘crank 2’ is without a doubt performed by a woman scorned, describing how her ex will have to hear her music “in every bar in the city”. While she’s busy taking over the culture, he’s stuck with his new girl being Slayyyter’s fan. She advises him to “keep your head down while she crank it to the max”.  

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Slayyyter expressed a desire to build on ‘WOR$T GIRL IN AMERICA’ - dissatisfied with the rise of “era culture,” she’s not concerned with moving on to her next big thing. Instead, she’s reworking what she’s already created to express new emotions and new experiences.
