Manchester-born artist Izzy Steele, or Little Dog Star, is back with another intimate and shockingly honest indie track. Although now based in London, Steele began her career as an actress with a six-year-long stint on the British soap opera Emmerdale, playing Liv Dingle. Since her departure from the show in 2022, she has dedicated herself to pursuing her passion as an artist. Last year, she separated herself from her acting persona by dropping her birth name and rebranding as Little Dog Star through her journey into the music industry. 

'Dog With A Bone' is her most recent single, following on from her four-track EP 'Something Infinite', which was released back in July. The single begins with a collection of idioms to accompany the title, with the opening line being "Rip off the plaster / Call the shot". Steele revealed that she wrote the song after moving to London and beginning her relationship with her girlfriend, with the song perflectly encapsulating her finally escaping her comfort zone. She stated that "this is a song about identity in many ways, and letting go of the version of myself that I felt had never been mine", again prioritising her candour through her music. Previously compared to the likes of Beabadoobee and The Japanese House, her atmospheric vocals are also prominent in 'Dog With A Bone'. 

Alongside the single's release, she announced another upcoming EP titled 'Sore Thumb', which is set to be released on November 11th. On her Instagram, she stated that it will focus on "the way environment shapes you or attempts to" and her "rejection of all those things". Steele stands out as a new artist in the industry through her undeniable connection with her audience, never shying away from honesty through her lyrics.
