A useful tool for music promotion is Groover: the platform connects artists who want to promote their music with curators (playlisters, labels, radio, media, magazines) seeking emerging talent to showcase.

The epitome of an artist on the rise, Montreal’s SUUNCAAT forgoes traditional pop in favour of haunting soundscapes (‘Signs’) and an electronic ambience (‘Indigo’) that challenges the hyperpop releases proffered by Charli xcx and FKA Twigs. Bold, bright and entirely intoxicating, SUUNCAAT’s career is one worth paying attention to.
9ruel
Listen to: ‘Doomsday Dirtbag’
The solo venture of UCLA student Aidan, 9ruel released their debut offering, ‘Doomsday Dirtbag’ earlier this Summer. Self-described as an artist “with abstract lyrics and grungy musical sensibilities, I’ve always painted my world through an angsty, hyperbolic lens,” the San Francisco-hailing singer was born “practically hunched over a guitar” and champions grungy pop that balances on the interstice between ‘Care’-era Beabadoobee and Olivia Rodrigo. Having already performed an in-store at Brandy Melville, 9ruel is a voice not to be ignored.
Lynn Dossenbach
Listen to: ‘Pressure On My Chest’
Swiss-born but Liverpool-based Lynn Dossenbach recently released her debut EP ‘Combination’ – the lead track of which features as the first entry in her folk-tinged discography – whose unveiling was celebrated with a show at Liverpool’s Kazimier Stockroom. Combining pop sensibilities with delicate vocals and enchanting percussion (‘Pressure On My Chest’), Dossenbach’s back catalogue weaves through bolder kaleidoscopic offerings (‘Anzeichen’), and softer, acoustic cuts (‘Hopes & Dreams’).
misty4me
Listen to: ‘coffee fund’
There’s arguably no better time to dive into London-based duo misty4me; with only a debut single (‘coffee fund’) to their name but tantamount talent, the outfit are on the precipice of discovery. Comprised of Scottish/ Lebanese-Palestinian songwriter Salwa (Lana Salwa MacIver) and guitarist-bassist King Katsuu (James Themba Loyns), misty4me are a product of chance; a burger-line conversation that quickly evolved into musical discussions. Centred on balancing escape with reality, ‘coffee fund’ is an ode to simplicity, a love letter to the “slow” life that finds its roots in delightful bedroom pop. Teasing an upcoming EP release via their Instagram, misty4me are a band to keep a steady eye on.
Mono Mochi
Listen to: ‘Into The Dive’
Switzerland quintet Mono Mochi prove that music doesn’t need to be the most technologically advanced to hit the mainstream: opting to record and produce their own tracks on a vintage 1980s tape machine. Oozing familiarity and nostalgic charm, Mono Mochi draw similarities to Mac DeMarco, Tame Impala and Peach Pit, with a sound that defies genre classification but moves between dream-pop and drawn-out indie rock. Simply, they make “music that doesn’t try to prove anything – and for that very reason lingers”.
With a handful of performances planned for the transition from Summer to Autumn (Festival Le Chant Du Gros, Konzerthaus Schüür, Atlantis Basel), Mono Mochi are making their mark on the European music scene.
