Basht. are one of those bands whose studio recordings and live renditions match perfectly; you can guarantee that the emotion and energy they create on stage also comes through in their recorded tracks. With Jack Leavey (vocals/guitar), Lughaidh Armstrong Mayock (lead guitar), Louis Christie (bass) and Ryan McCellend (drums) working with producer Ali Chant, they’ve turned a heavy topic into an absolute banger. With signature Basht riffs and an emphatic drum lead, this could be one of the best songs on their upcoming album.

Basht. go straight into another catchy riff with ‘Terror TV’, another indie rock banger from the lads in Dublin. It’s the third single from their upcoming album, ‘Poor Advice’, and it further cements their place as one of the standout bands in the alt-rock and post-punk scenes right now.

‘Terror TV’ has an emotionally charged narrative about the chaos of the world. The lyrics carry the weight of the world, reflecting the glaring reality of world leaders using both war and charity to get what they want: “Fight fire with fire, yeah, and put it out, make sure the world knows what you’re about”. Music has always circled back to politics, and this band has hit the nail on the head. The repetition of “Terror on the TV, mass panic on the radio” captures how the media portrays the state of the world and tries to manipulate everyday people.
