In the midst of a run across some of the UK's most iconic festivals, including Reading and Tramlines, Australian indie rockers Radio Free Alice have just released their standout single ‘Kick In The Shins’.

A mashup of two unfinished songs, it follows along nicely from ‘Lunch Money’ – their first release of the year. The band explores feelings of loneliness and confusion perfectly within the track, highlighted by Noah Learmonth’s vocals, which help to showcase the anger that these feelings often bring about.
The instruments draw parallels to Irish rockers Basht., with Jules Paradiso’s slightly frenzied guitars that hook you in and Michael Phillips' growling basslines, which act as the backbone of the track, helping to move it forward.
The band nails indie rock right down to a T, as demonstrated by both Lochie Dowd’s gritty drums and lyrics that echo around your head well after the final note: “Well I’m in the garden can you let me stay? / He’s crying out loud cus he’s never been found / Crying out loud cus you’re never around”.
It comes as no surprise that ‘Kick In The Shins’ has already cemented itself as a favourite amongst the band’s fanbase, considering Ewan Pearson (Depeche Mode) and Peter Katis (Death Cab For Cutie and The National) assisted in the song’s production.
With the band already assuring fans that there’s new music just on the horizon, ‘Kick In The Shins’ prepares them for a bright future ahead.
