Against The Current Vow Everlasting Love On The Cinematic ‘Always You & I’

Alternative-rock band Against The Current have continued to usher in their daring new era this week with the release of their cinematic and evocative new track, ‘Always You & I’.

Consisting of frontwoman Chrissy Costanza’s incomparable vocals, the song confesses an undying and bigger-than-life love for someone. It is their most clear-cut love song yet, but it still carries an existential weight that is often found within their tracks. Costanza sings, “'Til the fall of the human race / And the lights flicker out in space / I would stay, I would stay right where you are” on the pre-chorus, vowing to stay by their partner's side, no matter what.

It comes as the latest single in a string of tracks expected to feature on the band’s highly anticipated third album; they haven’t released an album since ‘Past Lives’ in 2018. After their 2021 EP ‘fever’ gave fans a taste of their move from pop-infused rock into straight-up, punchy alt-rock, they have been eagerly waiting and asking for the band to release a full record again. Following a run of intimate shows earlier this year celebrating 15 years as a band, they launched into their new era with the release of their bold and spiritual track ‘Heavenly’ and have since been teasing their third album on social media.

Continuing their existential theme, they’ll be heading out on the Till Death & Back Tour this autumn, kicking off with shows in Europe before heading out to Asia and Australia for early 2027. Can fans expect a new album to drop before then? Only time will tell.
