A year on from his debut album ‘The Panic Years’, Bradley Simpson is back with the feel-good track ‘Suzy’. What used to be a much-loved yet unreleased song has now turned into the start of a new era for Simpson. After teasing "big news" on his Instagram story as well as leaking the catchy chorus, fans were desperate for ‘Suzy’ to be officially released.
Perfect for summer, ‘Suzy’ is full of melodic motion and catchy hooks. In the chorus, Simpson sings “Suzy wants a man as long as he's handsome / Someone who stands when she's singing the anthem / Suzy wants a man, oh, man (Ooh-ooh-ooh) / And I'll be that guy if I can.” The song describes ‘Suzy’ as carefree and confident. She does what she wants and has no shame in doing it.
The instrumental is groovy, full of upbeat drums and a pulsing, electric guitar; it creates a light and cheery track. A stand-out part is the amazing riffs during the bridge, adding the grit and depth that Simpson showed on his debut album, ‘The Panic Years’.
With the release of Simpson's new track, an intimate show has also been announced. Taking place at The Old Blue Last in Shoreditch, Simpson will be joined by special guests Calum Bowie, Krystyn, and Beaux. Tickets sold out within two minutes, which isn’t a shock given how incredible Simpson is live.
Simpson is also booked and busy for the rest of the summer as he is currently supporting Charlie Puth on his Whatever's Clever! World Tour. As well as this, Simpson is joining the mighty Maroon 5 at BST Hyde Park this July with other special guests such as Only The Poets, Ella Eyre and One Republic to name a few.
