Black Havana Share Conflicted Love Song ‘Lost Cause’ Following Fan-Favourite Status

Welsh alternative rock band Black Havana have released their long-awaited single ‘Lost Cause’. The band have been road-testing this song at live gigs for over a year, and it has quickly become a fan-favourite. The track combines dark, brooding guitar lines reminiscent of Royal Blood with the anthemic approach of bands like Catfish and the Bottlemen.

Camryn Thomas’ vocal delivery is raw and urgent, cutting through the riff-driven backbone of the track with an ease that retains the magic of hearing it live for the first time. The studio version strips back some of the heavier distortion, making the melodic riffs sound crisper and more defined. The result is a more refined version of the track, trading some of the live chaos for clarity without sacrificing the song’s pre-loved intensity.

The lyrics reject the conventional breakup narrative, instead capturing the tension and frustration of feeling trapped in a relationship built on mixed signals: “But when you hit me with those eyes / I’m stuck without a rhyme or reason why / I can’t be another maybe / You’re just a lost cause, baby”.

The song doesn’t linger on sentiment for too long; it pushes forward with cymbal-driven percussion and chant-ready choruses. It has a scale that feels built for large crowds, and is designed to be listened to at full volume.

The band will perform the track live at their headline show at Cardiff’s famous Clwb Ifor Bach on Friday the 3rd of July, where it is sure to be a standout moment of the set.
