The track opens with sampled female vocals singing "Ooh, darling, please don't give up on me..." before Legxacy assumes form in his first verse - this eclectic blend of melody and bars having become synonymous with his output.
'idk idk' plays out like a stream of consciousness, as Legxacy opens up about his struggles, from questioning himself ("Fightin' with my thoughts, I know") to his grief following the tragic loss of his sister ("Nearly two years since I lost you, wanna cry"). While the subject matter is devastating, he spins this into an energising tune as upbeat instrumentation carries his flow.
It's dark yet hopeful - and above all else, deeply relatable as he speaks to a predominantly young audience navigating uncertainty in real time. His ability to mesh vulnerability and danceability shows us again why he's one of our new generation's best - and a deserving winner of the MOBO's Best Male Act.
