SPRINTS Comment On The State Of The World With ‘Trickle Down’

Having just wrapped up their sold-out US headline tour, SPRINTS mark their return to releasing with triumphant new single ‘Trickle Down’. A track filled to the brim with frustration about the current state of our world. With lyrics like, "I think I’m gonna join the list of endless hospital patients / it goes on and on and on / I know enough about this city to know you’ve royally f*cked it up”, it just might be one of the most powerful releases of 2026.

‘Trickle Down’ makes itself heard from the very beginning. The crunchy guitars (Zac Stephenson and Karla Chubb) which run throughout the rest of the song and the distinct buzz of the bass (Sam McCann) showcase how the Dublin band have never been one to shy away from saying how they truly feel (as heard throughout the whole of their second album ‘All That Is Over’). Speaking on the track, the quartet commented, “...it’s the frustration of a generation stuck on ‘wait mode’ while everything burns” and that message really shines through, creating a compelling and relatable listen. Chubb’s vocals truly hammer home the song’s message and proves that garage punk isn’t dead. The anger is infectious and paired with everything else, rewards ‘Trickle Down’ with the high-energy raucousness that it deserves and is made even better by Jack Callan’s formidable drumming that underpins the whole song.

For fans of bands such as Panic Shack and Tooth, SPRINTS’ ‘Trickle Down’ is a superb addition to the band’s discography and leaves listeners pumped for their upcoming European shows happening later this month.
