The Belair Lip Bombs Cover The 1975

Happiness can be described in a multitude of ways when talking to the people around you, for some it's the joy of learning something new, for others it’s a fantastic cover of one of their favorite songs.

The Belair Lip Bombs have blessed our ears once again with their cover of ‘Happiness’  by The 1975 on their recent appearance on Triple J’s Like A Version. Their cover is exactly what you expect from a band as talented as The Belair Lip Bombs, pure talent.

The main highlight comes from the band's instrumental takes, with different key points from the original, one being the lack of a saxophone. Originally performed by John Waugh, this has been replaced by a phenomenal guitar solo by Maisie Everett, which managed to convey the same feeling as the sax.

Ultimately, The Belair Lip Bombs managed to bring a second life to ‘Happiness’ that we haven't seen before. Their performance emphasizes that covers don't always need to be an exact duplicate of the original to be successful.
