Everyone remembers the rise to celebrity of Sabrina Carpenter, Chappell Roan, and Charli xcx — also dubbed the Powerpop Girls— of 2024. With such a strong year in music and pop culture, 2025 saw a few emergent pop stars, such as Tate McRae, Addison Rae, and Zara Larsson, it wasn’t as prominent a rise as the trio of 2024. This year, there is a prediction of another pop comeback, but who will be the main “it girls” of 2026?
JADE
This article was inspired by JADE. Not only because of her single ‘IT girl’, which manifests her position in the lineup, but because her debut album ‘THAT’S SHOWBIZ BABY’ was one of the strongest debuts in pop. JADE, aka Jade Thirlwall, was part of the X-Factor winning band Little Mix for a decade. They made six albums together, with their latest being in 2020. JADE has been in the industry for a while now, which explains the strength of her sound— nonetheless, to have such an incredible rollout and concept behind her record is admirable and shows it’s only a matter of time until she takes mainstream pop by storm.
Chloe Qisha
Chloe Qisha became a revelation with her second single, ‘I Lied, I’m Sorry,’ released in 2024. Months later, she released her first self-titled EP. As she continued to release singles throughout 2025, she also refined her brand. Her image of wearing clothes deemed masculine projects a confidence that isn’t easy to replicate. The colors red and black accompany Qisha in her visuals, whether that’s in her cover art, music videos, or stage performances. With the reveal of her second EP, ‘Modern Romance,’ she showed she knows exactly where she stands. The 80s music influence, paired with tales of modern day, gives her an advance on exponential success.
Alessi Rose
Alessi Rose’s songs were discovered through her social media presence. She achieved a loyal following since her debut EP ‘rumination as ritual’ released in 2024. Her success only continued to grow with the release of her project ‘for your validation’ the next year. Her candid lyrics surrounding her OCD, paired with her saccharine voice and earnest tone, hit a chord with her listeners. Opening for pop stars such as Dua Lipa and Tate McRae has brought her to the forefront of the run. It is only a matter of time until she reaches mainstream pop sensation status. Her latest project,‘Voyeur’ shows her consistency in her sound, while also evolving as an artist.
ADÉLA
ADÉLA participated in the contest show Dream Academy, though she was eliminated early from the competition— a blessing in disguise, as she’s been thriving since the release of her first single ‘Homewrecked.’ ADÉLA has been playing on the image of the imperfect popstar. Her video for ‘DeathByDevotion’ showed the hard-working and determined side of her, while at the same time showcasing the harshness of the industry. She released her debut EP ‘The Provocateur’ last year, which captures her essence as a pop star. She isn’t afraid to challenge the narrative, playing on the exaggeration and sexual side of being in the spotlight.
Isabel LaRosa
Isabel LaRosa began to release music in 2021, though it wasn't until she released ‘i’m yours’ the following year that she broke through on social media. Last year, she released her debut record, ‘Raven,’ along with a self-directed short film. LaRosa’s dark-pop sound and signature look make for the foundation of a pop star. She plays on romance and sensuality, her velvety voice recognisable among her peers. LaRosa also honors her Cuban roots through her lyrics and production, respectively on ‘Home’ and ‘Favorite.’ She opened for Nessa Barrett and is set to open for Madison Beer on her upcoming tour, which promises a widespread reach of her art.
Lilyisthatyou
Lilyisthatyou has been showing a consistent evolution in her cohesive sound since she debuted in 2021. She is unafraid to show her truth to the masses, which makes for her ascension as a popstar. Her vulnerability and emotion, paired with her confidence makes her stand out from the overpopulated pop scene. She released three EPs: ‘POP MUSIC’ (2023), ‘Painful Euphoria’ (2024), and ‘LILITH’ (2025). Each of her projects has a distinct identity while at the same time seeming to fit in a puzzle of Lilyisthatyou’s coordinated discography. She is the best-kept secret at the moment, but it won’t be long until she reaches mainstream.
