The UK shows are dedicated to celebrating the successful and seminal masterpiece ‘Bleed American’, and the three dates have ensured fans that they have the chance to join in with the 25th Anniversary. The temptation of the nostalgic journey the show will provide will dive through the band's journey through their most recognisable work, such as ‘The Middle’ or ‘Sweetness’, but also show the full breadth of their work, which is sometimes forgotten.
The throwback, however, does not stop at music. The vintage, grainy tour poster that's used is oozing with references to the original ‘Bleed American’ cover. The cover famously featured a photo of a set of bowling trophies on top of a cigarette machine, the art piece also known as ‘Memphis’, was captured by William Eggleston, whose art is well-admired by the group. The achievements and growth of the band are portrayed through the dramatic size change of a singular trophy. The theme of bittersweet memories and the grassroots of their career is portrayed through the desert landscape in the background, giving a nod to their home state of Arizona and, no doubt, the venues that supported their successful career.
Making these events even more worthwhile, Jimmy Eat World will be supported by the well-known melodic rock band Rise Against and emo punk band The Get Up Kids, who have all been established at a similar time, giving us that feeling of overwhelming nostalgia. They are also being supported by rising star Jay Som, who is an American songwriter and producer.
