Louis Tomlinson’s most recent release, ‘Palaces’, is the fifth track from his upcoming studio album ‘How Did I Get Here?’. Combining powerful, electric guitars and upbeat lyrics, it's a match made in heaven for the start of a comeback.
‘Palaces’ keeps the running theme of a gritty, strong, electric guitar, taking influence from Tomlinson's second album ‘Faith In the Future’, but combines it with upbeat, easy-going lyrics which mainly discuss relationships. The track is heavy on the drums, a common feature of Tomlinson's tracks, as he tends to have one instrument with a dominant stance throughout.
The lyrics reflect the beginning of a relationship and how discovering the way someone's head works can really benefit it, if people stay around long enough to recognise that. Tomlinson sings,“You can stay for the night in the palaces of my mind / You can stay through the night in the palaces of my mind”, implying that he wants someone there permanently to discover him fully.
The release of this track has created a buzz for his fans, considering this is the first since his sophomore studio album ‘Faith In the Future’.
With the release of ‘How Did I Get Here’ in January 2026, as well as his world tour, Tomlinson has started this album as he means to go on, and everyone is beyond excited.
