DON BROCO Unleash Their Addictive New Single ‘Disappear’

Rock band DON BROCO have unveiled their third single of this year, following shortly after the explosive ‘Cellophane’ and ‘Hype Man’ comes ‘Disappear’.

In comparison, ‘Disappear’ is much more melancholic in its lyrics, and its sound is constantly shifting throughout.

It captures the emotional weight of trying to support someone you love with their struggles, but it ultimately becomes too much. In the same breath, it explores the guilt that comes with abandoning that person, knowing that upon reflection, their situation and feelings will be much larger than your own. From the first verse alone, the lyrics “I’m not gonna cry about it” and “I don’t have the tears to spare” already encapsulate this feeling of exhaustion, so much so that they have nothing left to give.

Sonically, the track is seamless as it shifts between styles, fusing genres together to create an unforgettable song. It opens with a hypnotic chanting before a heartbeat-like drum kicks in to drive the rhythm throughout. Together, they create an uneasy feeling that builds up during the verses, where soft vocals shine before an explosive release. Transitioning straight into a soaring chorus, the sound of the song mimics the visceral feelings behind the lyrics.

Guitars can be heard throughout the track, but mainly as a background factor for added tension, but when they do come to the forefront, they’re distorted and punchy to match the disorientating and strong vocals. As a whole, the track feels like listening to someone who’s trying to keep their emotions regulated for the sake of others, but it occasionally slips through. With an unrestrained energy behind it, it feels like an outburst at certain parts of the track due to the pressure of undertaking someone else’s problems.
