Brògeal’s Video For ‘Go Home Tae Yer Bed’ Is A Celebration Of Scotland And The Band

The newest release from Brogeal, ‘Go Home Tae Yer Bed’ is a celebration of Scotland as demonstrated in the song’s accompanying video.

More melancholic and stripped back than previous singles like ‘Vicar Street Days’ from their upcoming album ‘Tuesday Paper Club’, it helps to showcase the band’s versatility and incredible craftsmanship.

Shot by Sam McGill on the Isle of Lewis, it adds to the homely feel of the music video and links into the band’s Scottish roots. These roots are excellently played on in the song, with Gaelic lyrics and the music taking on a more traditional, folky vibe.

The long shots showcasing the beautiful Scottish landscape break away from the usual overstimulation which music videos nowadays bring about, instead stripping it right back, making for a calming and peaceful watch. A fantastic example of how videos help to make the song into what it is.

Lyrics including “and the sky it is black as the Ravens out haunting the dead” intertwine with the video and the cuts between landscape and the lads, whose faces you never get to see clearly. The video helps to bring out the best of the boys and allows them to toy around with new styles and sounds which works in perfect harmony with Sam McGill’s eye for detail, brilliantly highlighting why Brògeal are currently one of the best bands on the Scottish scene.

If the video for ‘Go Home Tae Yer bed’ is anything to go by, ‘Tuesday Paper Club’, which is set for release in October, is bound to be a complete stunner of an album and artfully exemplifies the best of the Scottish band.
