The K’s have released their latest single, ‘Me and Your Sister’, ahead of their eagerly awaited second album, ‘Pretty On The Internet’.
Staying on brand with previous releases from this album, such as ‘The Bends (Here We Go Again)’, Nathan Peers’ drums instantly demand attention before the rest of the band come crashing in with their signature sound to make for a fun, three-and-a-half-minute affair.
The low, rumbling bass is the backbone of the track, elevating it from a good to a great song and making for an addictive listen.
Lyrics such as “There’s nothing between us / I ignored all the signs” and “I’m so distant, unattractive” expertly portray the nervous feelings that come around when getting to know someone you like, alongside the self-hatred that inevitably comes along with it, acting as a comfort blanket for those facing similar situations.
The musical interludes pepper the track alongside Jamie Boyle’s Merseyside charm, making it a thrilling tune to let your hair down to and dance those painful emotions away.
Bold and brass, ‘Me and Your Sister’ is an exceptional single which deserves to be sung from stages worldwide and builds up hype for what appears to be their best album yet, due to be released on the 25th July.
