Five years engraved in 4.5 minutes: Ezra Furman’s new ‘Power of the Moon’ Single release

Ezra Furman, an American indie artist, released her third single ‘Power of the Moon’ on Friday 25th of April, accompanied by a nostalgic music video. Her new album is due on the 16th of May and was teased by two other singles earlier this year.

Sonically vibrant with some psychedelic notes in it, Ezra is supporting her space lyrics lines with well-recognized 60s guitar riffs and tender percussion in the background The song puts the audience into the haunting introspective world that talks about faith, existential uncertainty, and cosmos energy. Poetic lyrics lines “Who am I to say things may not all be what they seem?” and “And who am I to speak about the fabric of a dream?” are two powerful lines opening up the song that reflects on Ezra’s long-standing struggle to battle with “whoever’s in charge of the universe.”

The single was released with the support of an official music video, filmed and edited by Sam Durkes, where intimate nostalgic visuals are gently emphasizing Furman’s creative process in a studio.

With ‘Power of the Moon’, Ezra turns her existential struggles being carried inside for five years into a delightful shimmering anthem, making the public so ready to be surprised with what the anniversary album will bring in just two weeks!
