The Lathums are back with new single, ‘Say My Name’

The Lathums proved this week that they do nothing by halves: the Wigan-based three-piece have released their newest single ‘Say My Name’, alongside announcing the title of their second album ‘From Nothing To A Little Bit More’ and releasing tickets to their next UK tour – all whilst currently being on tour!

‘Say My Name’ is a single their loyal fanbase have patiently awaited since the band premiered the track during their mainstage headline slot at Reading and Leeds festival in the summer. The song proved, even prior to release, that it has the capability to make crowds of thousands sing and dance along. The punchy lyrics, powerful guitar solo and catchy call-and-response vocals in the chorus gave the song credibility before fans even knew when they’d be able to stream it.

Frontman Alex Moore mentioned, when interviewed by Far Out Magazine, that the band had been listening to the Scissor Sisters and The Bee Gees at the time of writing ‘Say My Name’ which could explain his use of higher pitched vocals than usual in the track. Rest assured, the band aren’t planning on switching genres in this new era, as the track seems to be a perfect continuation from their last album ‘How Beautiful Life Can Be’ with a slightly rockier edge.

Moore comes back in with final chorus ‘I don't mind (I don't mind) / If it's my time (It's my time) / I've lost my faith in what I used to hide behind’ as guitarist Scott Concepcion and drummer Ryan Durrans create a crescendo around it. Despite losing their original bassist, Johnny Cunliffe in October of this year, the band are proving with every performance that they are as strong as ever and continue to deliver as they continue their UK tour this month.

Catch The Lathums on their second album tour in March next year.
