The Lunar Keys unveil ‘Oxygen Type’

If you’re on the hunt for some fresh rock ‘n’ roll to sink your teeth into, you might just have come to the right place.

Hailing from the suburbs of London, the ‘neurotic-pop’ quartet The Lunar Keys have stamped their own unique brand of rock onto the scene, veined with adrenaline-fuelled instrumentation.

After being long-listed in 2020 for Glastonbury’s “Emerging Talent” contest, the outfit have gone from strength to strength with their insatiable releases.

Made up of JC (lead vocals/bass), Dom (drummer), Lexi (backing vocals/keyboard), and “The Steve” (backing vocals/guitar), the group are described on Spotify as “four anxious types with too much nervous energy and tunes trapped in their Psyches to not be in this band”.

Utterly immersive, their latest single ‘Oxygen Type’ is an enthralling journey through the peaks and troughs of an eclectic rock soundscape. Featuring thumping instrumentation, the cut is jam-packed with riotous energy, in perhaps their boldest release to date.

The track opens full throttle with explosive guitar lines before rip-roaring in with soaring vocalisation. Post-punk and almost metal influences create an air of mystery and intrigue. Wholly embracing their own twist on classic rock, layered harmonies and an infectious chorus join an upbeat tempo in an explosion of electric sound.

‘Oxygen Type’ is a promising offering from The Lunar Keys and echoes musical corners filled by the likes of Queens of The Stone Age and The Killers. 2022 is set to be an exciting year for the London outfit.

The four-piece are set to play an unmissable live set at Exeter’s Cavern on October 22nd.
