Lorde – She may be Stoned at the Nail Salon, but she still manages to impress

Lorde is an artist that has been around for the best part of the last decade, first debuting in 2013 at the age of 17 with the album ‘Pure Heroine’ which housed the humongous success that was 'Royals', which as of today, has over 800 million listens on Spotify – by no means a small feat, but that was in 2013.

So what is she up to in 2021? – well, very much the same.

Lorde’s new track ‘Stoned at the Nail Salon’ is incredibly nostalgic of some of her previous work, the focus is very much on her vocals, which has always sounded fantastic, it’s got that familiar melancholic sound to it, which we’ve come to expect and love from Lorde. It's complemented well with an acoustic guitar, that’s got a sound to it like that famous riff from Eels ‘I Need Some Sleep’. It is a song that tries to make you feel, and with Lorde’s powerful vocals, it's hard to not let it resonate with you.

It’s been 7 years since we first heard Lorde’s unique sound, and she’s consistently managed to create stellar tracks time and time again. ‘Stoned at the Nail Salon’ is no exception to the rule.
