This years slate boasts a fusion of both indie legends and some fresh faces; Aussie psychedelic rockers King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard are set to headline, with shoe gaze legends Slowdive, and Mercury Prize Winners Young Fathers to also look forward to.
Squid and Dry Cleaning will be bringing a healthy dose of post-punk to the day, whilst DJ’s Ben UFO and Helena Hauff, French American glam rock brothers Faux Real and electronic music duo Modeselektor are other highlights on the bill.
Wide Awake has become fondly renowned for its passion for supporting emerging artists and creating space for those who may feel excluded from often formulaic lineups that dominate the industry. Festival organisers are proud to have formulated a lineup with an equal gender split, as well as regularly reviewing their sustainability practices and partnering with charities such as Gig Buddies, who create arts opportunities for people with learning disabilities, and climate organisation Earth Percent.
With the main stage to be hosted by Seattle-based nonprofit radio station KEXP, and 7 others to explore across the site, Wide Awake 2024 is set to be an unmissable event to help kick off the summer.
