As a growing favourite on the scene, End of the Road is known for its eclectic lineups, aimed to amuse a multitude of tastes, ages and genres, and the recent announcement for 2024 can once again be deemed as a triumph.
Outspoken Bristol punk rock band IDLES will be returning to the festival at the top of the bill after their packed-out big top set in 2018, alongside shoegaze legends Slowdive, American singer/songwriter Bonnie “Prince” Billy, and Fever Ray with their exclusive UK festival appearance.
Indie lovers will be thrilled to see an array of both legends and fish faces playing throughout the weekend. EOTR veterans Yo La Tengo, Baxter Dury and Gruff Rhys will be gracing us with inspiring melodies and soulful lyrics, joined by Mercury Prize nominated duo Jockstrap and Irish songwriter CMAT, who is sure to bring a performance infused with measures of both humour and heartbreak.
Ty Segall will be bringing an atmospheric acoustic set to the weekend, which will be a welcome reprise since his performance that ignited the Garden Stage almost seven years ago. The Lemon Twigs have a groovy vibe and invigorating sound, as well as Tuareg guitarist Mdou Moctar, who is sure to get crowds jumping, whilst Flamingods, Sprints, Heartworms and Newdad are other must-sees for the weekend.
Soothing tones can be expected as well, with Japanese songwriter Ichiko Aoba, harpists Mary Lattimore and Cerys Hafana, and alternative electronica musician Blue Lake bringing their meditative sounds that will perfectly compliment the idyllic gardens surrounding them.
With a history of having legendary and often spiritual live sets, there’s no surprise that the 2024 lineup for End of the Road Festival is bound to create a groundbreaking weekend with lots to explore- both musically and physically.
