After the release of her single ‘Black Prada Dress’, Ellie Goulding is back with ‘4 Seasons’, which is the second lead track from her upcoming sixth studio album ‘I Know Too Much’, set to be released on 4th September. This new single is a tiny glimpse into her upcoming music, showing a softer and deeply romantic side of the British pop star. Co-produced by Jack Rochon and Tyler Spry, it’s anchored by a blend of rich acoustic guitars, light basslines, and a delicate piano. Aaron Paris’ violin arrangements add a classical texture to the track, giving Goulding’s vocals a lot of room to shine.

‘4 Seasons’ leans away from the heavy, club-oriented synth-pop sound of ‘Black Prada Dress’, and dives into the more warm, organic themes of falling in love for the first time with someone. Inspired by a romantic getaway at the Four Seasons hotel in Florence during the early days of a relationship, Goulding blends casual phrasing with vulnerability. Lines like “Daydreaming, faint feelings / f*ck around at the Four Seasons” blend into confessional phrases like “I think that I might be falling in love with you”. It’s refreshingly unguarded, touching upon the exact moment someone finds a new love after a really bad breakup.

Ultimately, ‘4 Seasons’ gives us many clues about ‘I Know Too Much’.  Overall, the album deals with grief, cynicism, and the darkness of a broken marriage, but this track is the light at the end of a tunnel. It shows that Goulding’s new record will not just be a dark heartbreak record, but a journey that tracks emotional evolution, transparency, and a mature pop sensibility that lets her raw storytelling take center stage.
